‘So-called role models’ have let us all down

Last Sunday, we witnessed firsthand the disrespectfulness of our role models and mentors.

The duality of man was displayed all over our great nation. The thug players disrespected our flag in forms of kneeling, sitting, locking arms and not even coming out of their locker room.

These players get paid millions of dollars a year to have their 60 minutes of fame a couple of Sundays out of the year.

We have men and women all of the world defending them so that they can play their games — and they get paid only a small percent of what NFL players make.

I do give kudos to the men who formerly served in our armed forces who now play in the NFL, such as Alejandro Villanueva.

All over the United States, diehard fans of all NFL team are boycotting, and some even taking extreme measures by burning their fan gear. Some will blame our president for this, but he is just standing up for his beautiful, prosperous country where patriotism is slowly dying.

This is the mindset of two different American views. You’re either for standing for the national anthem or against it. Personally, I am against the disrespect that these so-called role models are showing on the field.

I will not watch any NFL games, nor will wear any article of clothing that represents teams in the NFL until a rule is changed.

Too many men and women died for that flag, and they are just utterly disrespecting it.
