Congress must act to protect dreamers

After President Donald Trump announced his decision to end the DACA program, it is imperative that Congress act rapidly to rectify the situation and give people who were brought to the U.S. as children (through no fault of their own) and have contributed positively to American society the opportunity to apply for legal residency status and/or citizenship without the fear of repercussions.

Congress should act swiftly to protect this group of people without attaching any conditions to the legislation or holding this group of people hostage in order to accomplish some other legislative objective.

These people have done nothing wrong and benefit the U.S. and its economy.

We must provide them with a path to legal residency.
