Fownes has experience that could benefit him
In my opinion, there are two characteristics necessary for an individual to be an effective magisterial district judge.
First, the individual should have legal experience. Second, the individual should have the proven ability to manage a budget and supervise an office staff.
In the contest to replace retiring Magistrate Jeff Auker, I believe one candidate stands out. That candidate is Henry Fownes.
Henry (H.T.) Fownes has been a law enforcement officer for many years. During his time as a police officer, he has investigated a wide range of criminal cases.
His in-depth experience has earned Fownes the endorsement of District Attorney Richard Consiglio and retired Sheriff Mitch Cooper.
Fownes also has business experience. As part owner of several Dairy Queens, Fownes understands the importance of being fiscally responsible.
He has hired individuals and made employment decisions.
He will make fiscally responsible decisions and properly manage taxpayer funds.
