‘Faith Climate Week’ time for consideration

I’m writing on behalf of The Greater Altoona Baha’i Community.

As members of Altoona’s community of faith, we are calling attention to “Faith Climate Action Week,” observed this year April 17-23.

This is an initiative of “Interfaith Power and Light,” a time when people of all faiths focus on environmental stewardship, consider action on climate change, and reflect on how individuals and groups can make responsible choices that will benefit our environment.

IPL has no political affiliation or motivation in this endeavor.

The Baha’i Universal House of Justice wrote, “Humanity’s collective life suffers when any one group thinks of its own well-being in isolation from that of its neighbors’, without regard for how the natural environment, which provides sustenance for all, is affected.”

We encourage your readers to seek out activities within their own faith community, and join with others during this week, and throughout the year, in considering how the precious resources of our earth can be used wisely and with consideration for the health of the entire human family now, and for generations to come.
