Schools should strive for an earlier start

Schools should start at 8 or 8:30 a.m.

That way when it is cold, kids do not need to miss their first two classes of the day, and we should stick to Eastern Standard Time.

If schools start later, kids will not be out in the dark waiting for buses, and we will have longer days.

Kids will not be in the dark either way.

Most farmers today have other jobs outside of their farms, and this will give them more daylight to work their farms.

Stick with Eastern Standard Time, and everyone wins.
