Government must learn to work together

Next month’s presidential election matches perhaps the two most arrogant, obnoxious and deceitful candidates ever.

For those of us who left the Democratic and Republican parties decades ago, the election will again give us the lesser of two evils as the victor, and the leaders of the losing party will immediately announce their intent to refuse to cooperate for the next four years.

After the initial years of the Wolf administration, it’s obvious that the Pennsylvania legislature has no intent to cooperate with the executive branch and apparently loves gridlock.

The longer our government bodies continue to ignore the state and national constitutions, show great pride in being obstructionists and protect organizations that perpetuate institutional child abuse, the sooner the population will decide that anarchy is the only alternative.

As Eldridge Cleaver said back in the 1960s, “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.”
