Remember good priests

We have all been scandalized by the bad priests in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. But what about the good ones?

They perform baptisms, conduct marriages, visit/anoint the sick, bury the dead and teach in Catholic grammar schools, colleges and universities. They say daily Mass, hear confessions, work in the community and keep a parish functioning with the help of parishioners.

My favorite priest was one of the good ones, who in addition to all of the above duties that he did with love and enthusiasm, brought many into the faith (a convert maker). He loved his priesthood, the Mass, our Lord and his blessed mother and was passionately pro-life.

There are many good priests just like this one, who outnumber the bad, by far, and we thank them for their faithfulness and service.
