This year the Republican county commissioner race offers voters a chance to bring someone new to county government: Joe Metzgar.
Metzgar will be new to the county government but not to serving the community. He has been a Logan Township supervisor for the past eight years and is currently the vice chairman.
Additionally, he is a board member of the Central Blair Recreational Commission and the Intermunicipal Relations Committee. He also sat on the Logan Township Planning Commission. His knowledge of how local government works and his experience as a team player would bring a breath of fresh air to county government.
Working as a revenue and Medicaid auditor for 34 years, Metzgar has an eye for detail and a background of fiscal responsibility. His work ethic and integrity are impeccable.
He will serve as a full-time commissioner a critical factor with the upcoming reassessment issues county government will be facing.
