Geraldine Mae Piper
Geraldine Mae Piper, 103, formerly of Duncansville, died Tuesday morning at St. Leonard’s Home, Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Homer and Elsie (Morgan) Delozier. She married Sharon D. Piper, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1978.
Surviving are a son, Daniel (Dixie) of Puzzletown; 10 grandchildren: Frederick Piper (Rebecca), Beth Ann Nadeau, Catherine Aluare (Dreux), Joyce Lingenfelter (Ross), Becky Piper, Ross Langham (Mona), Gail Langham, Kent Langham, Sherie Piper and Daniel Piper Jr.; 15 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two stepsons: Durwood and Foster Piper; a stepdaughter, Doris Langham; a brother, Max Delozier; an infant twin brother, Gerald; and a granddaughter, Elaine Piper.
Geraldine was a 1930 graduate of Roaring Spring schools. She was a member of Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Golden Age Club and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Duncansville Volunteer Fire Company. She enjoyed sewing, playing board games and spending time with friends and family.
Friends will be received from 9 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, July 11, 2014, all at Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rev. Jaime G. Olson officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church and/or the American Cancer Society.
