Catherine ‘Kay’ Tobin Faulds

Catherine Tobin Faulds, 94, Altoona, died Monday evening, July 7, 2014, at her home after a rich and rewarding life.

She was born in Bryn Mawr, daughter of Anthony J. and Rose (Mullan) Tobin. She married John David Faulds on April 10, 1948, in Haverford.

Surviving are her husband and five children: John Jr. and wife, Betsy, of Huntsville, Ala., Susan Taylor and husband, D. Michael, of State College, Karen Copenhaver, Esq., and husband, the Rev. Martin, of Wellesley, Mass., Richard, Esq., and wife, Danna, of Greenville, Va., and David and wife, Kim, of State College.

Catherine is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Morgen Lauber and husband, Larry, of Coudersport, J. Benjamin Faulds and wife, Jamie, of Huntsville, Ala., Zachary Taylor of Oakland, Calif., Catherine Reilly and husband, Dan, of Raleigh, N.C., John Taylor and wife, Lola Kelly, of Los Angeles, Calif., Anne Taylor of Naples, Fla., Alanna and Todd Copenhaver of Boston, Mass., and Natalie, Hannah and Eli Faulds of State College; and eight great-grandchildren: Summer, Garrett and Hunter Lauber of Coudersport, Aiden, Gavin, Alec and Delaney Faulds of Huntsville, Ala., and Ellie Reilly of Raleigh, N.C.

Also surviving are siblings: Sister Mary Antonita, C.R.S.M., of Merion, sister-in-law Louise Tobin of Glenn Mills, Eileen Ivers of Newtown Square and Rosemary Schmader of Haverford.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony J. Tobin Jr.

Catherine had many outside interests, but above all she was devoted to her family. She was dearly loved and was beloved by her husband, family and friends, and her presence in their lives will be sorely missed.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, in Stevens Memorial Chapel, The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, and a funeral service will be held immediately thereafter conducted by the Rev. Martin Copenhaver.
