VA hospital lauded

Though deplorable conditions are being uncovered in VA hospitals across the nation, my father’s recent experience with the Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona has been nothing but positive. Staff is personable, caring and competent. Phone calls have been answered or returned promptly. Appointment times have been scheduled almost immediately. Services available are wonderful.

At 86, my father is in general good health, but with mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease. He becomes confused and quite agitated with medical appointments. One of the most valuable services for him through the VA is home care, making it possible for him to receive general medical care including blood work at home.

Our gratitude to the staff and administration for the kind of service every veteran deserves.
