Faith in people restored

One evening of watching the news, and you’re sure to be left wondering what happened to all the good people in the world.

I know I’ve felt that way. In what is supposed to be a holiday season filled with hope and happiness, we’re often left feeling more disappointed in the behavior of others.

Little by little, we lose our faith in people.

On Christmas Eve this past year, I was tying up some last minute things while shopping in the Logan Town Centre. At some point in the day, my wallet went missing. Upon noticing the wallet was gone the day after Christmas, I went back to the Logan Town Centre, searching various stores I had previously visited. I continually searched to no avail.

On a final stop at Giant Eagle, it had been discovered that someone had turned in the wallet. Not only had the wallet been turned in, but all items had been kept intact. Even with a substantial amount of cash, nothing was missing – not a cent.

As it turns out, there are still good people in the world. We may not always see them on the news each day or in the chaotic hustle and bustle of the holidays. But they are out there! And to my own Christmas angel, I would like to say thank you for reaffirming my basic belief in the honesty of people.
