Criticism unfounded

I’m writing in response to Robert Leonard’s ridiculous letter from Jan. 3 about the prisoner article in the Mirror.

He basically called the article a disgrace by the Mirror and also alleged the men and women in the prison were worthless.

That kind of thinking is what’s wrong with this world.

I don’t know Leonard, but I find it hard to believe that somewhere along the line someone he knows hasn’t been incarcerated before.

That being said, a lot of the inmates are not violent criminals. Many of them have made bad choices in their life, whether it be drinking and driving, public intoxication, behind on child support. There’s a long list of reasons, non-violent reasons, that people have been incarcerated.

The Mirror did its job and gave us a news story. Leonard needs to get a life and a clue.
