Parishioner believes in Monsignor Little

Today, May 14, equals 52 days that Monsignor Anthony Little has been relieved of his duties at St. Patrick’s Church in Newry after allegations of sexual misconduct.

This has been and continues to be a very trying time for the members and community of our church and school and, most importantly, Monsignor Little.

The Fifth Amendment of our Constitution states, “No person shall be…deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law.”

Monsignor Little was removed immediately from his home once the allegations were made and was basically banished to an outlying area. Because of the past mishandling of sexual misconduct cases by the Catholic Church, it seems that Monsignor Little is paying a huge price for something that I believe and my fellow parishioners at St. Patrick’s Church in Newry believe did not happen.

Please continue to pray for Monsignor Little and that we may have a resolution quickly.

As Barbara Hazenstab wrote in her letter to the editor, “Goodness will prevail.”
