Be kind to veterans

I have a kind and giving heart, and my heart goes out to the men and women in the veterans’ homes and hospitals.

There are so many people in there that could use a word of encouragement. There are so many of them that are forgotten.

I am disabled and cannot work, but that does not stop me from wanting to help others.

Veterans have done their part for our country, for which I am grateful, and I would like to let them know that someone cares.

There has to be someone out there that can help me reach out to these people.

I have been told that I would be a good counselor because I am a good listener, but I don’t have the schooling.

It does not take an education to be a friend and listen to their stories. Just think what a better world this would be if there were more people out there who cared about these men and women who have no one left to visit them.

Just the thought of them thinking there is no hope breaks my heart, and if you care, it would break your heart, too. Please be a friend to them, and let them there are those of us who care.
