I am writing in support of Judge Fred Miller for Blair County judge.
In Sunday’s Mirror editorial “Acts of violence troubling trend,” you stated “we wish these horrible crimes were an anomaly. Regrettably they are not.”
Statistics indicate Blair County has a higher than average number of new criminal cases filed from 2005-2010 compared with other fifth class counties.
In 2011, only 0.6 percent and 1.1 percent of the civil cases filed in Blair Court resulted in a civil jury or non-jury trial, respectively.
While it is important for our next judge to be experienced in all areas of law, it is imperative that he be experienced and well-trained in criminal law.
Miller possesses over 10 years of judicial criminal court experience and has earned the respect of our law enforcement community.
For these reasons, I ask you to join me in support of Judge Fred Miller – a judge for judge.
