AR-15 meant for military
I am so tired of reading in the paper that the AR-15 is not an assault rifle.
Well, let me give you a little information: The A in AR stands for assault.
If it is a true AR-15, it is simply a modified version of the M-16 and uses a .223-caliber shell, not a .22 caliber, like some of the ones being offered by gun manufacturers.
The AR-15 was designed with a shorter stock that a M-16 because it is used in close quarters such as an observer in an observation helicopter, etc. If the people making all the noise served their country they are so quick to complain about, they would know this.
As for our government taking your guns away, pick up the paper or turn on the TV, but you are going to have to change the channel from Bill O’Reilly.
You would learn about all the shootings in schools and theaters. Those are the people that are going to take your guns, not the government.
If you think you need one of these weapons, the recruiting offices are open daily. Maybe you will like the government of Iraq or Afghanistan better.
You see, I had an AR-15 in the late 1960s. It was my best friend 24/7, 365 days. Maybe that is why I don’t want one now.
Maybe our country isn’t perfect, but it is a heck of a lot better than the options I’ve seen.
