Ban assault weapons
I think sometimes that homo sapiens are given more credit than they deserve.
Of all species that inhabit this planet of ours, it is the only species responsible for starting wars, destroying the environment and killing for pleasure or the thrill of it.
I firmly believe in our right to own and bear arms. What I don’t believe or see a need for is assault weapons.
Their intention and their only intention is to kill large quantities of people.
I don’t think deer hunters need assault weapons to kill deer, when Native Americans were just as efficient with a bow and arrow.
The massacre that took place in Newtown, Conn., will only be repeated over and over due to the media sensationalizing it, and the 24-hour news channels regurgitating it ad nauseum.
There are so many, disillusioned, disenfranchised and mentally unstable people out there, that crave this kind of media attention and will go to any length, even if it means taking the lives of innocent young children.
When are we as a nation going to wake up?
It is now time for a reasonable dialogue to take place in America regarding guns and gun control.
All parties should be involved in the conversation – the NRA, the politicians and the average working man on the street.
We can no longer exist as a country of civilized people, with these atrocities happening almost daily in the United States of America.
This is an issue we cannot afford to drag our feet on, but must stand up as brave patriots, who love our children and save our country before it’s too late.
The clock is not only ticking on us as a society and a civilization but also this precious planet which we are fortunate enough to share with other living beings.
