Eleanor L. Ickes

Eleanor L. Ickes, 90, Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday morning.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Clair K. and Helen (Barr) LeCrone.
Surviving are her loving children: a son, James (Joan) Ickes II, and a daughter, Sherri Ickes; three grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Gabby:” Carri (Phil) Williams, Katie (Ronnie) Thomas and John (Jessica) Gasparik; nine great-grandchildren: Reiley, Reece, Liv, Logan, Dylann, Averie, Addy, Aiden and LJ; and a brother, Richard LeCrone of Ocala, Fla.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James “Mac” Ickes; a brother, Donald LeCrone; and a sister, Janet Klobetanz.
Eleanor was a beautician and an “Estee Lauder Girl.” For 15 years, she was a caregiver for her husband, James, who suffered from Parkinson’s disease. She was a beautiful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton, Ohio and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at the funeral home. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
