Richard Thomas ‘Rick’ Noonan

April 10, 1947 - May 18, 2019

Richard Thomas “Rick” Noonan, 72, Antis Township, passed away suddenly Saturday evening.

He was born in Altoona, son of Norma (Lowey) Sickles and the late Robert E. Noonan, who preceded him in death in 1974. On Feb. 14, 1969, in Altoona, he married Linda Cherry, whom he met and fell in love with when he was in the sixth grade.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years, Linda; two sons: Rick and wife, Sheri, and their two children, Derrick and Ty, and Tim and wife, Tricia, and their two children, Drew and Lyla; his mother; four siblings: Lyn (Jack) Barbour, Tim (Sharon) Noonan, Marilee (Gordon) Harton and Robyn (Lee) Pulley; six nephews and a niece; and his beloved Springer Spaniel, Amazing “Mazie” Grace, who loved sitting in his lap and will miss him tremendously.

Rick retired 15 years ago from Small Tube Products, Duncansville, and also served six years with the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a proud member of the undefeated 1962 Altoona High School football team, which was inducted into the Blair County Hall of Fame in 2018.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, drinking coffee with his buddies and driving the back roads in his 2002 red Corvette. He also enjoyed sharing laughs about his antics, hunting and fishing tales and local sports. Rick seldom missed a Bellwood sporting event, whether it was coaching or cheering for his sons and grandsons.

Rick will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, the Rev. Vance Hart officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Rick’s memory be made to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 or United States Veterans Service Dogs, 7615 Barataria Blvd., Marrero, LA 70072.
