Harry Thomas David

Harry Thomas David, also known as “Bug,” 92, Duncansville, died Tuesday morning at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Clair Edward and Mary Belle (Benner) David. On July 4, 1953, he married Joyce Ann Beatty in Altoona, and she preceded him in death on July 21, 2017.
Surviving are three children: Bonnie Green and husband, Bert, of Altoona, Jeff David and wife, Sherry, of Altoona, and Melissa David-Bailey and husband, Raife, of Huntingdon; seven grandchildren: Mandy McManus, Summer Tomlinson, Ryan David, Justin David, Ira Bailey, Finn Bailey and Holden Bailey; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven siblings.
Harry retired from Conrail in June 1988, where he was a carman and welder. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He enjoyed walking at the mall, where he was known as the “Candy Man.” He loved his dogs and he loved to feed the birds and squirrels.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 10, 2019, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
