Marilyn J. Hainley

Marilyn J. Hainley, 88, formerly of Duncansville, died Friday evening at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Cloyd and Hilda (Kaltsmith) Murray. On Oct. 15, 1960, she married Paul F. Hainley at Greenwood United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Faith (Alan) Weyandt; a son Fred F. (Brenda) Hainley; a granddaughter, April Bush, whom Marilyn raised in her home for 15 years; other grandchildren: Eric, Kayla and Brian; a great-grandson, Hunter; three brothers: Robert, Galen and Lowell Murray; many loving nieces and nephews; and great friends: the Til Black family and the Marie Harker family.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Gary, Allen and Paul Murray; and three sisters: Joyce Westover, Darlene Schoch and Virginia Laws.
She was a 1949 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and was a self-employed cleaning person for many years. She was a member of Hicks United Methodist Church, where she was a past treasurer of the Grace Koon Sunday school class, a member of the Prayer Quilters and helped with many church activities and odd jobs. She also belonged to the United Methodist Women’s Society administration board and served on other committees as needed. She was a Girl Scout leader for 12 years during the ’70s.
Marilyn liked to keep busy. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing seek-a-word and picture puzzles, going to Curve games and attending family functions. She was a friend to all.
There will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Carson Valley Cemetery.
