Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Sidney Grant ‘Sid’ Nash

Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Sidney Grant “Sid” Nash, 89, Dover, Del., passed away Monday at Kent General Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Lakemont and was a longtime resident of Scotch Valley. He was the son of the late Charles P. Nash and Gladys Lyberger Nash.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Virginia (Cruse) Nash of Hollidaysburg and Dover, Del.; a son, Sidney Grant “Bud” Nash Jr. and wife, Cathy, of Laurel, Del.; a daughter, Cindy Farley of Felton, Del.; five grandchildren: Sidney Grant Nash III and wife, Ashley, of Clayton, Del., Sara Gladys Nash of Smyrna, Del., David Lee Farley III of Felton, Del., Jason Daniel Farley and wife, Jessica, of Erwin, N.C., and Nicole Fooks and husband, Brian, of Delmar, Del.; and five great-grandchildren: Brynlee, Mackenzey, Sebastian, Derek and Caden.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dick Nash; and a sister, Betty Marks.
Sid served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 23 years, retiring in February 1972 as an Air Force courier. After his military career, he worked for the state of Delaware as Director of Home Improvement and Renovations for the elderly.
He loved camping and traveling the world. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, trying to outsmart the squirrels from getting into his bird feeders and watching the Phillies and the Eagles.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Route 10), Dover, Del., where a funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover, Del.
