Joseph H. ‘Joe’ Stoltz Sr.

Joseph H. “Joe” Stoltz Sr., 94, Patton, passed away Wednesday at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg.
He was born in Clearfield Township, son of the late Maurice E. and Mary T. (Huber) Stoltz.
Surviving are seven children: Joseph (Mary) Stoltz Jr. of Patton, Barbara (Dick) McConnell of Everett, James (Diane) Stoltz of Luthersburg, Daniel (Elizabeth) Stoltz of Arlington, Va., Dennis (Theresa) Stoltz of Pleasant Grove, Ala., Helen M. Terry of Everett and Veronica Stoltz of Sunbury; four stepchildren: Richard Keirn and Melanie Boose, both of Altoona, Tracy McCullough of Seward and William Keirn of Altoona; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ruth Miller in Ohio and Margaret Hambley of Butler; two brothers: Eugene of Altoona and James; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen M. Stoltz; his second wife, Janet D. Stoltz; a son, Edgar; two brothers: Patrick and infant Maurice; and three sisters: Marie Dillon, Rose Gill and Regina Litzinger.
Joe retired as a truck mechanic for International Harvester Corp. after 33 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Patton, and the Patton Senior Center.
He was an avid boater, fisherman and hunter.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at the funeral home, the Rev. Gary Grau officiating. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.
