Louise M. Sweitzer, 96, Tyrone, died Wednesday at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.

She was born in Tyrone, daughter of John and Mae (Guido) Franchio. On July 13, 1942, she married Harold F. Sweitzer in Hagerstown, Md., and he died Dec. 2, 1974.

Surviving are three daughters: Kay L. Spacht and husband, Walter, Judy Haverstein and husband, Robert, and Brenda Sweitzer, all of Tyrone; a son, Robert of Tyrone; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four brothers: John Franchio of Hollidaysburg, Albert Franchio in Florida, Pete Franchio in New York and James Franchio of Tyron; and two sisters: Kathleen Parmelee in Georgia and Virginia Rose Lamanteer in New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by a son, Harold Jr.; four brothers: Joseph, Michael, Gene and Richard Franchio; and two sisters: Mary Itinger and Irene Rupert.

In 1956, with her husband, Louise opened East End Pizza in Tyrone, and retired in 2011 after 55 years of service. She had also worked in the school cafeteria at Washington School, Tyrone.

Louise enjoyed bingo, the lottery and casinos. She was a hard worker and loved spending time with family and friends.

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at the funeral home, John Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
