Larry F. Archey

Dec. 7, 1941 – Aug. 28, 2018

Larry F. Archey, 76, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at his residence, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lewistown, son of the late Charles and Betty (Wood) Archey.

Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Maureen (Matthews) Archey; a daughter, Sandra Pero; a sister, Sandy Archey Canelli; two grandsons: Trey Pero (Briana) and Ryder Pero; and a great-grandson, Logan Pero.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Archey.

Larry worked and retired as a railroad carman for Norfolk Southern. He was an avid horseshoe player and a hot rod enthusiast; he even had his own 1932 coupe, of which he was very proud.

Larry loved to be surrounded by his family. Any chance he got he would invite friends and family to come hang out on the back porch to make lasting memories.

A time of visitation and remembrance will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation with services officiated by Larry’s friend and neighbor, Pastor Roger Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions in Larry’s name be donated to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
