John J. ‘Klockman’ Keller

John J. “Klockman” Keller, 78, Altoona, passed away peacefully on Sunday at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Zeber) Keller.

Surviving are his loving wife, Nancy A. (Begalke) Keller; two sons: David A. and John T. Keller; three grandchildren: Crystal (Keller) Pfeuffer, David T. Keller and Adam M. Keller; three great-grandchildren: Macy J. Keller, Parker A. Pfeuffer and Rylee G. Pfeuffer; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine R. (Keller) Gahagen; and a brother, Thomas C. Keller.

John was a man of many talents. He was the head of instrumentations at Westvaco Paper Mill Corp. for 37 years before retiring. He had a significant interest in music and played the piano/organ. He was also intrigued by clocks and the history of clocks. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on old clocks and fixing any issues that they may have had. John was a member of the National Associ­ation of Watch & Clock Collectors and was known as the “Klockman.” He was also a member of First Lutheran Church, Altoona.

Friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, Pastor Barry Folmar officiating. John will be laid to rest in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to First Lutheran Church, Altoona.
