Jack Kutruff, 89, Coalport, died Thursday after a brief illness.

He was born in St. Lawrence, one of seven children born to the late Cyril and Lorena (Albright) Kutroff.

Surviving are two daughters: Rosemarie (Jack) Green and Carolyn (Terry) Gillen; three grandchildren: Chris (Erin) Green, Jody Green and Frank (Tammie) Gillen; four great-grandchildren: Aden and Meghan Green and Hailey and James Gillen; two sisters: Marian (Joe) Long and Marnetta (Robert) Carlson; and many nieces and nephews who will share good memories of Uncle Jack.

He was preceded in death his first wife, Dorothy (Vargo) Donley; his second wife, Evelyn Knotts; and four siblings: Donna Epling, James Kutruff, Wanda Thompson and Loretta Wharton.

He grew up on a small family farm and worked for many years at Swank Refractory in Irvona.

Jack was a skilled and talented carpenter. Many people in the community and places far and wide have pieces of furniture made by his skilled hands. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 350, in Coalport.

Jack will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind and generous man who loved sharing a meal, a piece of cake or a good laugh. He will be greatly missed by all.

The family wishes to especially thank Wanda Bollinger for being such a caring and generous friend to Dad for many years. They would also like to thank his friends at the Coalport Moose who were like his extended family. The camaraderie he shared with you was an important part of his life for many years.

Friends will be received from 4 to 6 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 19, 2018, at Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., Irvona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at St. Basil the Great Church, the Very Rev. Zab Amar, officiant.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
