Vincent A. Stoehr

Vincent A. Stoehr, 84, Altoona, died on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona, after an extended illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of Frederick and Mary (Boslet) Stoehr. On Dec. 30, 1969, in Altoona, he married Joyce Snowberger.
Surviving are his wife; three sons: Doug (Jan) of Duncansville, Dan (Dianne) of Tacoma, Wash., and Matthew (Rachel) of Hollidaysburg; five grandchildren: Allie (Kris) Minsinger and Chloe, Bailey, Phil (Barbara) and Lauren Stoehr; a great-grandson, Max Stoehr; and many nieces and nephews.
Vincent was preceded in death by six brothers; and three sisters. He was the last of his family.
Vincent was a 1952 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He retired as the manager of Color Tile in 1996. Prior to that, he had been the assistant store manager for ACME market.
Vincent was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona. He was an avid fan of Bishop Guilfoyle, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He enjoyed gardening, coin collecting and stamp collecting.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held Tuesday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church by Father D. Timothy Grimme. Committal will be in Calvary Cemetery.
