Richard F. ‘Dick’ Thompson
June 29, 1943 - July 20, 2018
Richard F. “Dick” Thompson, 75, Hollidaysburg, died Friday at his residence after a battle with cancer.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Richard H. and Wava (Ryen) Thompson. He married Sally Neely.
Surviving are his wife; two sons: Scott and wife, Cheri, and Greg and wife, Stacy; two daughters: Christy and husband, Mike, and Lori and husband, Jim; five grandchildren: Matthew, Kevin, Spencer, Paige and Gianna; a sister, Connie McGunigal and husband, Bill; and a niece, Beth Ann and husband, Carl.
Dick was a 1961 graduate of Altoona Area High School. For many years, he was employed as a material inspector for Conrail.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed spending time in the outdoors at his hunting camp with family and friends.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, where a private memorial service will be held afterward. Inurnment will be made in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
