Timothy P. Eck
June 4, 1987 - June 8, 2018
Timothy P. Eck, 31, Altoona, passed away Friday.
He was born in Pullman, Wash., son of Richard and Maureen Eck.
Surviving are his father, Richard of Hollidaysburg; his mother, Maureen of Altoona; his fiancee, Nicole Kyler, with whom he resided; a son, Weiland Eck at home; a sister, Alyson Eck of Altoona; three brothers: Austin (Samantha) Eck of El Cerrito, Calif., and Ryan and Brandon Eck, both of Altoona; his grandmother, Anne Drury of Denville, N.J.; a nephew, Weston Eck, born on June 9, 2018; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tim was a 2005 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School, and he received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Mount Aloysius College. He was a registered nurse at UPMC Altoona, and he was also working to complete certification as a nurse practitioner.
Fondly known as “Champ,” Tim loved listening to music, was an avid reader, enjoyed golfing and was an NBA fan. He was passionate about all things baseball, the Yankees being his favorite team, and he was currently playing for the Altoona City League with the Sheetz team.
Tim was known for his ever-present smile, his kindness, his love of family, his positive attitude and his generosity to all.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4:45 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held afterward at 5 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Doug McGaffin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Champ may be made to benefit his infant son via check made out to Weiland P. Eck, care of First National Bank, 430 E. 25th Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
