Paul E. ‘Tom’ Weitzel

Feb. 17, 1944 – June 20, 2018

Paul E. “Tom” Weitzel, 74, East Freedom, died Wednesday afternoon at his home after a battle with cancer.

He was born in Brooks Mills, son of the late Orville C. and Clara E. (Mentzer) Weitzel. On Aug. 22, 1968, he married Edna M. Helsel.

Surviving are his wife; four sons: Kenneth E. Weitzel and Roger T. Weitzel, both of East Freedom, Michael C. Weitzel and wife, Holly, of Duncansville, and Samuel L. Weitzel and wife, Jayme, of Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Janet A. Weitzel and Doris E. McCarty and husband, William, both of Claysburg.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Fred and Alvin Weitzel; and two sisters: Ruth Weitzel and Sally Karcz.

Tom retired as a truck driver from Tri-County Milk Haulers, Everett, and was a truck driver for various other employers for over 48 years. He enjoyed fishing and boating.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, Pastor Charlie Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Holsinger Cemetery.
