Joseph M. Mangiacarne
March 21, 1948 – April 14, 2018
Joseph M. Mangiacarne, 70, 301 Valley View Blvd., Altoona, formerly of 1607 19th Ave., Altoona, died Saturday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center after an extended illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of Angeline (Cancilla) and the late Henry T. Mangiacarne.
Surviving are his mother; a sister, Joan M. Conroy of Altoona; a brother, William A. Mangiacarne of Portage; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Joseph was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and retired in 1992 as an electrical salesman from Cowan Electric with 12 years of service. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, the BGHS Athletic Club, National Right to Life and the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal.
He enjoyed music and stereo systems and was an amateur weather watcher.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, at Jones Funeral Home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, Monsignor Robert C. Mazur, celebrant.
Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
