Carolyn R. Mallow

Carolyn R. Mallow, 91, Altoona, formerly of Homers Gap Road, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Layton A. and Vera P. (Wagner) Clugh. On June 17, 1949, she married Harold R. Mallow in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2009.
Surviving are three sons: John F. Mallow and wife, Debbie, James C. Mallow and Jay C. Mallow and wife, Karen, all of Altoona; six grandchildren: Nicole (Steven) Ubrig, Jennifer (Michael) Larrimore, Megan (James) Burchfield, Amber (Matt) Besson, Shawn (Sue) Jarrett and Nicole Rucker; and 10 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Raymond and Thomas.
Carolyn was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School and attended Linden Hall Community College.
She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church, Altoona, and she was a homemaker. Carolyn was also a member of the Altoona Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Joble Court and White Shrine, Daughters of the Nile. She was a Judge of Elections for 45 years at the Grandview Fire Hall.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Providence Presbyterian Church, Altoona. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
