Carol Gladys (Reed) Deffley

Carol Gladys (Reed) Deffley, Dover, Del., passed away Tuesday.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Garman Lawrence and Jessie Charron (Gearhart) Reed. She married Clair Larue Deffley in 1957, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are two children: Tracy Lynn Papa and Meredith Jill Esposito; sons-in-law: David and Joseph; and three grandchildren: Justin, Chloe and Hope.
Carol received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences and her Associate’s Degree in arts and sciences. She worked as an assistant librarian of circulation and reserve at the University of Texas in Dallas, Texas. She had a window treatment fashion business for 15 years.
Carol was a very active person in several social clubs. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Cameo Society, DAR, Queen of Crimson Bonnet Chapter of The Red Hat Society, Downstate Genealogy Society, Delaware, Blair County Genealogy Society, Centre County Genealogy Society, The Round Table Club of Camden, Wyoming, Del., Helping Hands Quilt Guild, Modern Maturity Center member and AARP National member, as well as a master gardener in Kent County, Del.
She volunteered at the Blood Bank of Delmarva and the USO at Dover Air Force Base, Dover, Del. She loved quilting, acrylic canvas painting, decorating and flower arranging, yoga, exercise and walking her Boston terrier, Zoe.
