Terence M. ‘Terry’ ‘Derk’ Anderko

Terence M. “Terry” “Derk” Anderko, 69, Altoona, died Tuesday at his residence after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

He was born in Johnstown, son of the late Joseph and Eva (Smith) Anderko. On Aug. 2, 1986, he married Karen Bush in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Alisha N. and Renee R. Anderko, both of Pittsburgh; a sister, Rita Rae Cecchett of West Newton; three brothers: James of Alexandria, Va., and Bernard and Joseph Anderko, both of Portland, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David.

Terry was a 1966 graduate of Triangle Area High School, Sidman, and he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Saint Francis University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1970-72, and he was a retired corrections officer. After his retirement, Terry worked for Walmart, Altoona.

He loved gardening and walking his dogs.

A funeral service will be held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.
