Jeffrey A. ‘Jeff’ Wyland

April 14, 1985 - March 11, 2018

Jeffrey A. “Jeff” Wyland, 32, Loretto, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Johnstown, son of Joseph M. Wyland Sr. and Sharon C. (Craine) Hutchinson.

Surviving are his parents; his stepmother, Annette Wyland; his stepfather, Charles Hutchinson; two brothers: Joseph Jr. and Justin Wyland; a sister, Emma Wyland; four stepbrothers: Jacob and Stephen Dean and Benjamin and Daniel Hutchinson; a stepsister, Alyssa Dean; his paternal grandmother, Kathy Wyland; his maternal grandparents: Jacob and Barbara Buck; several nieces and nephews; numerous aunts and uncles; and countless cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gerald Wyland; two uncles: Eric and Brian Buck; and a cousin, Gregory Lego.

Jeff was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was employed as an IT technician, working for the U.S. Air Force, Lockheed Martin and PPG, and he also did his own independent contract work.

He was a member of the American Legion Loretto Post 748. He enjoyed traveling all over the world, but his biggest passion was helping others. Jeff had a big heart and would do anything for anyone who needed his help.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Kennedy-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cresson. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, the Very Rev. Father John D. Byrnes celebrant. After the Mass, military honors will be conducted by Loretto and Cresson American Legions, Sankertown VFW and other local veteran organizations.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jeff’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, Blair Unit, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648, or to American Diabetes Association, Two Chatham Center, Suite 1520, 112 Washington Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
