Damian Michael ‘Meathead’ Staniszewski
Damian Michael “Meathead” Staniszewski, 19, Portage and Duncansville, in March of 2017, was tragically taken from his family who, after many months of unanswered questions, wondering and waiting, mourning, time and time again, are finally able to bring him home.
He was born in Altoona on May 7, 1997, son of Sean W. Staniszewski and Mandi Zella. He was raised by his father; his stepmother, Tina; and his paternal grandparents: Stephen and Virginia. Not a day went by that Damian didn’t care for his grandparents and call them throughout the day.
Surviving are his parents; a half-brother, Zachary; a stepbrother, Darrian; a stepsister, Adrienne; a niece, Elizabeth; his grandmother, Virginia; his great-grandmother, Betty; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved cousin, Sierra; and his precious grandfather, Stephen, both within the past year. May they find comfort in each other’s arms.
Damian attended St. Patrick’s School, Newry, and he attended school in the Portage School District. He worked for Blue Knob Ski Resort, and he loved the adventure of his job.
He enjoyed the outdoors, snowboarding, 4-wheeling and dirt bike riding, and he especially loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his late grandfather, Stephen.
Damian was loved by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial for Damian from 11 a.m. to
