Thomas Alvin Hufford

Thomas Alvin Hufford, 89, Owasso, Okla., formerly of Altoona, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, in Tulsa, Okla.
He was born in Portage, son of the late Thomas Filbert and Elizabeth (Wilt) Hufford. On June 19, 1956, he married the former Verna Consalvo in Altoona. He and his wife made their home in Owasso in 1994.
Surviving are his wife of more than 61 years, Verna, of the home; four children: Leslie Reinmiller of Stanton, Calif., Thomas Hufford and wife, Katie, of Naples, Fla., Steven Hufford of Owasso, Okla., and Glenn Hufford and wife, Paula, of Temecula, Calif.; four grandchildren: Sarah Hufford, Logan Hufford, Brandon Hufford and Tory Massie; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hufford of Duncansville; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends; and his pride and joy, Buddy, his Australian Blue Heeler.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Eileen Royer and Bernadine Patterson; and a brother, James Hufford.
Thomas was reared and educated in Altoona, and was a graduate of Altoona High School. He continued his education at Mississippi State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in industrial arts. He spent much of his working life as a foreman with TRW.
He was an active member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and the Owasso VFW Post No. 7180.
Thomas enjoyed a variety of pastimes including woodworking and traveling to spend time at his cottage in Canada.
Those he leaves behind hold many cherished memories of him.
Services were held at the convenience of the family in Owasso, Okla. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. Arrangements are by Mowery Funeral Services of Owasso.
