Robert E. ‘Bob’ Gensimore

Robert E. “Bob” Gensimore, 45, Spruce Creek, died Saturday as the result of a work-related accident.

He was born in Hunting-don, son of Harold “Dink” and Rachel (Houck) Gensimore. On Oct. 17, 1998, he married Missy Trimble in Eden Hill.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Grace Gensimore at home; a son, Levi Reihart of Pittsburgh; his parents; a sister, Stephanie Gensimore of Huntingdon; his in-laws: Wesley and Garnet Trimble; four nieces: Tarynn, Isabella, Corina and Sophia; and two nephews: Joe and Thaddeus.

Bob was a 1991 graduate of Juniata Valley High School, where he played football, played in the Mid-State Classic game and was nicknamed “The Hammer.” He also wrestled and was a member of the FFA and 4-H Club, where he showed Ayrshire cows.

From 1991 to 2005, he was employed by Glenn O. Hawbaker and then by PennDOT, where he was a foreman in Blair District 9. He was also employed part-time by Evergreen Farms.

He attended Warriors Mark United Methodist Church, and he was a member of Warriors Mark-Franklin Volunteer Fire Company for 27 years. He was very active in all functions of the fire company and first responders. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 51 and the AFSCME Union. He also was a medical team volunteer for the MS Bike Tour.

Bob was a very devoted husband, father and son. He was very active in the community and always willing to help anyone in need.

Friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at Warriors Mark United Methodist Church, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at the church, the Rev. Eric Shafer officiating. Interment will be at Franklinville Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bruce E. Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark.
