Nunzio J. Fiore

Nunzio J. Fiore, 90, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Tornatore) Fiore. On
Sept. 24, 1983, he married the love of his life, Janice (Clowson) Fiore.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Lori (Mark) Curtis of Katy, Texas; a stepson, Jeffrey Price; and two grandsons: Alex of Austin, Texas, and Charles of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Fiore.
Nunzio proudly served his country in the U.S. Army 13th Calvary Division, at Fort Knox, Ky., during WWII, and he received the WWII Victory Medal. He was a self-employed carpenter and contractor for the Altoona area for many years.
He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and Assumption Chapel, Altoona, where he cheerfully served as an usher for more than 60 years. Nunzio was a former member of the Blair County Jaycees and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. today, Feb. 3, 2018, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Altoona, with Nunzio’s cousin, Father Leo Lynch, as celebrant. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg. Arrangements are by Kader-Neff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Howard.
