Georgia ‘Louise’ Beam

Georgia “Louise” Beam, 86, Altoona, passed away Friday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg, after an extended illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Edgar F. and Ethel (Bigelow) Winters. On June 30, 1950, she married Theodore A. “Ted” Beam Sr. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona. She met Ted, who survives, roller skating at the Jaffa Mosque.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her six children: Ted Beam (Cathy), Tom Beam (Brenda) and Sharon Baker, all of Altoona, Ruth Anne Schultz (Glen) of Yardley, David Beam (Lisa) of Schuylkill Haven and Dana Hanlon (Brett) of Port Matilda; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Winters of Norristown.
She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Louise was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired after many years as an assembly inspector at SKF. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Christian Daughters of America and the Christian Mothers.
She enjoyed watching Penn State football.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, Father L’ubomir Strecok, celebrant. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
