Robert L. Patterson

Robert L. Patterson, 76, Altoona, passed away Thursday at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, after an extended illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert and Fay (Mock) Patterson. On July 1, 1967, he married Camille DiLeo in Altoona, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 6, 2014.
Surviving are a daughter, Nicole Diehl and husband, Kevin; a son, John Patterson and fiancee, Tracey; 10 grandchildren: Kayla, Jessica, Katie, Ashley, Dante, Devyn, Cierra, Rylan, Sarah and Kaitlyn; three great-grandchildren: Baylaa, Annabell and Kiara; a brother, David Patterson; a sister-in-law, Lydia Wineland; a nephew, Aaron Wineland; and two special girls: Alexis and Cassoundra Quintero.
Robert served in the U.S. Army during both the Korean and Vietnam wars. For many years, he was a football coach for Hollidaysburg Area High School, and he also coached several other sports in various leagues throughout the Altoona area.
He was a member of Bavarian Aid Society.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Anthony P. Scaglione Funeral Home, 1908 Seventh Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service outside of Mass will be celebrated at 8 p.m. Sunday, Franciscan Fathers TOR officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
