Helene Wade-Ackeret, 89, Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday evening at The Winds at Mattern Orchard, Duncansville.
She was born in Johnstown, daughter of the late Stewart and Emma (Stein) Brown. She was twice married; first to Richard S. Wade in 1957, who preceded her in death in 1994, and then to her second husband, James Ackeret in 2006, who preceded her in death in 2017.
Surviving are three children: Barbara Wade Dusel and Sally (Kevin) Canole, both of Hollidaysburg, and Scott (Elizabeth) of Stuart, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Helene was a family owner of Brownie Potato Chips and was employed at The Little Shop, but she was mostly a loving housewife and homemaker.
She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg, an avid golfer and a longtime member of Blairmont and Park Hills Country Club.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at The First Presbyterian Church of Hollidaysburg. Interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.
