David L. McConnell

He was born in Altoona, son of Ronald H. and Frances Ann (Michaels) McConnell.

Surviving are his mother; five siblings: Ronald (Cathy) McConnell, Donald (Pam) McConnell, Diane (Scott) Shiffler, Brian McConnell and Kevin McConnell; his companion, Jan Eaton; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded by his father, Ronald H. McConnell; and his grandparents.

He was a 1984 graduate of Altoona Area High School and he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Belvoir, Va. He retired as a psychiatric aide from Ebensburg Center, DPW.

David enjoyed fishing, shooting, NASCAR, football and especially spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a very generous person.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, the Rev. Eli Hess officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
