James R. Weyrauch

James R. Weyrauch Sr., 82, Philadelphia, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Nov. 3, 2017.

He was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late James A. and Anna (LaRocca) Weyrauch.

Surviving are his loving wife, Bonita Weyrauch; a son, James R. (Andrea) Weyrauch Jr.; a godson, Brandon Fields; members of the LaCroce and Fields family; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Ann Weyrauch.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army National Guard and worked as an OSHA inspector for the Department of Labor. James received his union card in 1951, which he held for 64 years until his retirement at the age of 80. He served as president of the AFGE Local 644. He was also vice president of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO and vice president of the National Council for Field Labor Locals.

Jim was a life-long liberal Democrat who spent his life fighting for the working men, women and disadvantaged in this country.

Services will be held in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia at a later date. Arrangements are by The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 W. Chester Pike, Upper Darby.
