Earl J. Anna
Earl J. Anna, 92, Penn Hills, formerly of Altoona, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia “Ginny” (Porta) Anna, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Surviving are five children, of whom he was a loving father: Rick (Lauren) Anna, Gary (Chris) Anna, Mike (Lori) Anna, Dan (Becky) Anna and Rose (John) Wallace; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and an expected ninth great-granddaughter; two siblings: Melvin (Patty) Anna and Mary (Mick) Brannan; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, John “Jack” Anna; a daughter-in-law, Deb Anna; and three siblings: Fran (late Gerry) Anna, Jerry Anna and Bernice (late Don) Vogel.
Earl served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at Maurice L. Knee Ltd. Funeral Home, 7663 Saltsburg Road, Plum. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at St. Susanna Roman Catholic Church, Penn Hills.
