Louise Colombo, 97, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Nicholaus and Emma (DeTemple) Frederick. On June 29, 1940, she married Andrew J. Colombo in Altoona, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are three daughters: Carol and N. Jeannie Albright (Rick), both of Altoona, and Connie (John) Hollingsworth of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; six grandchildren: Nicole Auman, Carrie and David Hollingsworth, Matt Hollingsworth, Kim Frankenburger and Heidi Dixon; five great-grandchildren; and three siblings: Dick Frederick of Altoona, and Thomas Frederick and Dolores Dull, both in Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew J. Albright, on July 28, 2017; two sisters: Betty Lechner and Patsy Yealey; and two brothers: Ronald and James Frederick.
Louise had attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona. She enjoyed reading and watching TV, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
At Louise’s request, there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, Father Lubomir J. Strecok celebrant. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
The family has requested that memorial contributions in Louise’s memory be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 511 20th St., Altoona, PA 16602.
