The Rev. Marjorie G. Walker, 99, Lewisburg, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William and Stella (Reid) Batts. In 1937, she married the Rev. Kenneth A. Burket, and they celebrated 38 years of marriage before his death in 1975. On June 22, 1985, she married the Rev. Charles Walker, and they celebrated 14 years of marriage until his death on Dec. 8, 1999.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth Burket of Horseheads, N.Y.; two daughters: Deanna Moore of Huntingdon, and Constance Diller of Punta Gorda, Fla.; four grandchildren: William Painter, Andrew and Adam Diller and Kelly Brosnahan; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother-in-law, Donald Burket of Altoona; and three sisters-in-law: Shirley Stauffer and Beverly Neil, both of Altoona, and Wilma Swab of Cumberland, Md.;
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Burket; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Burket.
Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, 42 S. Third St., Lewisburg, where a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. John Dromazos officiating. Arrangements are by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Marjorie’s name be made to Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, 42 S. Third St. Lewisburg, PA 17837, or to Albright Care Services Benevolent Fund, 90 Maplewood Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
