Dr. Lionel Kranitz

Dr. Lionel Kranitz, 83, Los Angeles, Calif., died Aug. 8, 2017, in the presence of his two sons.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Phillip and Rebecca Kranitz.
Surviving are two sons: Joshua Roth Kranitz and Andrew David Kranitz; two granddaughters: Renee Yvette Kranitz and Summer Celestine Kranitz; a brother, Herschel Kranitz; a niece, Laura Kranitz; a nephew, Bryan Kranitz; and a daughter-in-law, Danielle Yvette Kranitz.
Lionel was a 1951 graduate Altoona High School and a 1955 graduate of Bucknell University, Lewisburg.
His many accomplishments include having been a prolific and successful playwright; an actor with credits in films, on television and on Broadway; a highly respected clinical psychologist for 38 years; a dog breeder; a photographer; and having been produced in New York, N.Y., and Los Angeles, San Francisco and Manteca, Calif.
Most importantly, he was a devoted brother, father and grandfather and a dear friend to so many. In his own words, “Life is not a dress rehearsal!”
